I wish we had found this pharmacy when we moved here two years ago! After filling countless prescriptions at the big chains for a year, we stumbled upon this one "in our own backyard"--we were living just a few blocks away but somehow thought it was a specialty pharmacy and hadn't stopped in. Now we get all of our prescriptions filled here, because the service is just light years beyond what you get at CVS or Target or Rite-Aid. We got our flu shots here, too, and I believe it was the owner who have them to us. He was wonderful! They have blocks and a great little table and chair for the tots at the back of the store, and my son loves to play while we are waiting for prescriptions. As another poster mentioned, there are also lots of great cards and gift items. It is just not your typical generic pharmacy--it has a certain charm.

I have known John for many years. I went to Preston's because my dog needed a medication that had to be compounded, and no one else would do it. John was extremely accommodating, and even told me to bring in my dog to meet him. He did the same thing for another dog I had, and that was a Great Dane. (I doubt the CVS would have had me do that!)

Not only is the pharmacy top notch, but they have great gift items, and I don't buy greeting cards from anyplace else. They have the best selection around.

If you need something they don't have, they are happy to order it. I recommend Preston's to everyone I know. Love that place.

Preston's is wonderful. You can get helpful advice over the phone from first-rate staff. They will look on the shelf and quote a price, and hold it for you. Try to get any of that at CVS, and let's not even mention Rite Aid. They also have a nice gift section and an impressive quality of cards. Full-service, top notch products to fit every need, and they will order anything that isn't on the shelf. (although I've never been in and not found what I wanted) They also compound medications. If you live in an area close enough to use this store, you're lucky.

We've had only good experiences with Preston's. As they are not a chain drug store the hours are limited and you need to plan accordingly. There are two 24-hour stores nearby for your urgent needs. When our child was unable to swallow an antibiotic in pill form, Prestons was able to prepare a suspension syrup in a flavor of the child's choosing. With a serious infection, such as lyme, Prestons can be a lifesaver...literally.

We've also gone to Prestons for eldercare products--scooters, walkers, bed rails. They have a nice selection of cards, gifts and nice personal care products (Burt's Bees!) as well.
